The three types of non-woven fabric production methods are:
1. Spunbonding: This method involves extruding melted polymer fibers onto a conveyor belt or a spinning drum. The fibers are then bonded together through heat, chemical, or mechanical processes. Spunbonded fabrics are typically used in applications that require strength, such as geotextiles, filtration, and medical products.
2. Meltblowing: In this method, polymer granules or pellets are melted and extruded through a die head into fine fibers. These fibers are then blown by hot air or other means onto a moving conveyor belt, forming a web. Meltblown fabrics are known for their high filtration efficiency and are commonly used in medical masks, air filters, and absorbent products.
3. Needle punching: This production method involves mechanically interlocking fibers together using barbed needles. The fibers are laid onto a moving conveyor belt or a rotating drum, and the needles repeatedly punch through the web, entangling the fibers and creating a fabric. Needle-punched fabrics are often used in applications that require insulation, sound absorption, or reinforcement, such as carpets, automotive interiors, and synthetic leather.
